If we don’t seek to reinvent ourselves & our lives, we continue to validate the past & find people & circumstances to make up for it. We re-enact the past & seek to change it in the present. “Imagined slights, remembered pain, past disappointments, perceived injustices & deprivations” all enter into the present & become a way “in which you seek to restore your wounded self-esteem”. It serves nothi…ng but to perpetuate the past & leaves no miraculous openings for things to change. It puts a burden on your present relationships that is too much to bear. It is not someone else’s job to give you everything you think you didn’t receive in the past. It is up to you. It is a wonderful task I gladly take up. Smooooooooooch
The beginning of the teacher’s path is when “somehow, somewhere he has made a deliberate choice in which he did not see his interests as apart from someone else’s.” It is in those moments when we know we are all in this together, that our salvation lies in the face of the exquisite other, when we know all giving is receiving, when we know that the only thing lacking in any situation is the love that we are not giving, that life shines most brightly. Where the love is. Where the heart is. Where all true joy is. smooooooooooch.
“I am determined to see things differently.” These words are enough to change the texture of your life. You don’t have to look to the evidence of yesterday to see the miracles and therefore the reality of today. Boxed in thinking makes a series of similar days. Expanded thinking creates. We always have a choice to see life through divine eyes. I’m in. smooooooooooooch
